Taking on the World, One Country at a Time
"We are all destined to leave this earth but I for one do not want to leave without ever discovering it."

So when exactly did it occur to me? While walking along the Great Wall of China, or trekking through Thailand with my trusted friend Dumbo? Perhaps, while enjoying a Weiss beer (or two or three) along with thousands of other World Cup fans in Munich, Germany. Or maybe still, it was realized under the blanket of stars swathing the Australian outback. Point is, I cannot say exactly when it occurred to me, but I certainly came to the realization that there is more to life then what can be experienced in Omaha, NE.
Along the way, I’ve managed to acquire a love for adventure. Whether it’s skydiving in New Zealand, bungee jumping in Switzerland, white water rafting in Malaysia, scuba diving in Vietnam, Running with the Bulls in Pamplona (well, attempting to anyways=), I am always up for a thrill. After living the first 20 years of my life under the umbrella of, “what I should do”, I have spent the last 9, discovering what I want and love to do… and that is travel. Travel for the sake of traveling. To gain new insights, perceptions and appreciations for different cultures and discover life’s riches along the way. There is an invisible mold that has formed around society. “Go to school, get a job, get married, have kids and retire comfortably.” This mold, however, doesn’t leave much room for travel and has spawned the recurring statement, “I wish I would have traveled when I could have”. Life is too short to live with regrets. Don’t doubt for a second that you can’t or shouldn't do something. Follow your passions and everything else will fall into place. |
